THE SYNOPSIS. . .

SECOND CHANCES ARE RARELY GIVEN. This is a hard lesson for most people to learn as they always think they'll be able to have a redo on a missed opportunity. Unfortunately for these people, this is often not the case. Time can be quite funny like that. It keeps moving forward with little thought for what the human population wants and hardly ever dallies over repeats and revisions. There are a select few, however, that get a this precious do over. There is no decision made as to who gets it; it often comes randomly and those wise enough to see the opportunity must seize it for themselves. 

Time travelers are one of the lucky few who get to experience these loops. Now, they do not control time for it is too powerful a force for any one person to have influence over (as can be seen when certain organizations meddle with the timeline), but they work hand-in-hand in a subconscious, mutual agreement. This is what happened when Number Five Hargreeves used his time travel power to save his siblings from the impending apocalypse. While not everything went to plan (as it so rarely does, especially for this family) the mutual agreement was honored and Number Five received his promised second chance. 

Alexandra Hargreeves was- in no way- expecting their safe haven from the apocalypse to be Dallas, Texas during the 1960s. She never had a clear idea of where Five was taking them but the surprise arrival in the south nearly half a century earlier threw her for a loop. However, she took this new turn of events in stride and made a life for herself as she'd done twice before: once, when Number Five first vanished in 2004 and twice, when she left the Academy. The only flaw to her otherwise perfectly laid-out plan of reinventing herself was that she wasn't just establishing herself in a new timeline but in a new, younger body. When Number Five arrives after nearly three years bringing a new end-of-the-world with him, she realizes that "new timeline, new me" didn't just apply to her physically, but to her mentality as well.
